Lois Lane ducked into the nearest alcove, hiding herself behind
the ancient but gleaming Roman shield that was displayed there. It was dark and
the alcove was dimly lit. She hoped to God Lex Luthor would pass right by her. The last
thing she needed was to get caught snooping in his mansion. She had a feeling his
patience had been worn thin with people intruding into his home and he would
press charges this time, even though they’d never had a problem with one
another before.
Lex sauntered past, his cell phone up to his ear. He seemed
lost in conversation and she hoped he hadn’t spotted her ducking in the
shadows. She’d stupidly worn a burnt orange dress that had been designed to
draw male attention. Now she wished she’d worn black when she crashed Luthor’s
party.
Thankfully Lex moved on, seeming none the wiser to her presence.
She listened as a door opened and closed and his voice cut off with the snap of
a lock. She peeped around the corner. Lex was gone.
She hadn’t gotten what she was looking for anyway. The
hacking program her source had given her had been unequal to the task of
breaking into Lex’s office computer. She started down the corridor, hoping she’d been
able to at least find his laptop, but it was no good.
Suddenly the door opened and she could hear Lex’s voice. He
was still on the phone, talking about moving something to a facility in California. She opened one of the double doors before her and slipped in. She
looked around and knew she’d made a mistake. The room wasn’t just some bland
guest room -- it was Lex’s bedroom. Despite the impeccable housekeeping the
room had a lived-in feel. One of Lex’s ties had been thrown across the back of
a chair, there was an open book on the night stand, and his slippers were in
the middle of the floor.
Even better, his laptop was on a corner desk. She rushed
over and inserted the thumbdrive with the hacking program. Maybe she could get
some useful information before--
She could hear Lex’s voice outside in the hall. He was
coming closer. He was going to come into the room. She hurriedly worked,
tapping away at the computer, risking too much for something that may not even
pay off. Once the program finished downloading she removed the thumbdrive and
slipped it into her shoe where it pinched her toes uncomfortably.
What to do? She couldn’t scale down the wall. She couldn’t
hide in the bathroom. She didn’t have time.
The door opened, seemingly in slow motion. Lois did the only
thing she could think of. She wrapped one arm around the bedpost and leaned
against it, resting her head there, hoping to God she could sweet talk her way
out.
Lex’s voice stopped midsentence when he opened the door on
Lois Lane, leaning against his bedpost.
“I’ll call you back,” Lex said. He shut the call down and
came in, looking at her with naked suspicion.
“The party is over and you were never invited. What are you
doing in my room?”
“Looking for the exclusive,” she said. It was true. She was
looking for an exclusive that would not only get her into the Daily Planet, but would make her a star.
Lex wasn’t a fool. He stood and regarded her with a shrewd
gaze. “What are you doing in my room? The truth.”
“I told you the truth,” Lois insisted. She was relieved how
calm she sounded. “I’m here for an exclusive.”
“I don’t give interviews to papers like the Inquisitor.”
“I’m looking to move up from the Inquisitor, Mr. Luthor. An
interview with you would get me into the Daily
Planet itself.”
“You think if you throw yourself at me I’ll talk?” Lex moved
in close, crowding Lois. She didn’t back down. He leaned in and whispered in
her ear. “I’ve been with better women than you, Miss Lane.”
He smelled of expensive cologne, expensive cigars, and
champagne. She wanted to gulp. She didn’t. She had to be the better woman if
she wanted to convince him of it.
“So you think, Mr. Luthor.”
He stood back and allowed his eyes to rake over her. He
drank her in from her head to her toes. His gaze was as real as a physical touch. He walked over to his laptop and touched the mouse pad to activate it.
Lois’s mouth went dry. If her source wasn’t as good as he’d
claimed he was then Lex would know she’d tampered with his computer. He’d have
thrown in jail…
He seemed satisfied that everything was in order when he
turned back to her and took off his jacket. He removed his bow tie and pulled
his shirt free. Lois watched it all. She loathed the man but she couldn’t deny
he was gorgeous. He was evil tucked away in the trappings of an angel.
His gaze was so cold, so shrewd, she doubted she could
actually fool a man like him. She wanted him to kick her out now. She didn’t
want him to test her resolve to do anything for an exclusive.
His chest, what she could see of it where he’d opened his
shirt, was bare and smooth. The man didn’t seem to have a hair on his body. His
bubblegum pink tongue slid out to moisten his equally pink lips. If he wasn’t
such an evil bastard…
He leaned in again, putting his hand on the post, just above Lois’s head.
Tell me to leave. Tell me to get out...
“You want an exclusive?” he said. “You have to earn it.”
“How would I do that?”
“On your back like any woman reporter,” he said snidely. There was
a wicked glint in his steely eyes. He wanted to offend her. He wanted to piss
her off.
It was her way out. She could pretend to be offended, and it wouldn't be much of a job to pretend, and
storm out. No harm no foul.
Lois tried to slap him but he caught her hand and pulled her to him. He lifted her from the floor and tossed her onto his bed. She was so surprised, so shocked, she didn’t immediately react to him pulling her legs open, ripping her dress up the side, and leaning in over her.

She wasn’t prepared to feel a dull ache of arousal deep
inside. It surprised and disturbed her that she would react to Lex Luthor in such a way.
Lex smiled down at Lois as he crouched between her legs and
ran his hands up the length of her body. He stroked a thumb over one nipple
that traitorously hardened under his touch.
“You want an exclusive, Miss Lane?”
She nodded. “But not like this.”
“If you don’t want this why are you in my bedroom?” he said.
His words were smooth, like a cat’s purr.
“I thought…I thought I could…”
He grinned. “You thought you could play me.”
His eyes wandered to the black panties that lay exposed to
him. He stroked the inside of Lois’s thighs with the tips of his fingers. She
tried not to quiver but her thighs tensed at his touch. Her mind screamed at
her to be repulsed while her body screamed at her to give in. Lex leaned in.
Lois turned her head from him so he contented himself to whisper in her ear.
“Come back when you grow up and you’re ready to earn the
exclusive. I’ll give you an interview that will make you a star. For now…get
out.”
He moved away and Lois got up, her entire body shaking. She
tried to ignore the pain of the thumbdrive wedged between the tops of her toes
and her shoe. She straightened her dress, her face hot with humiliation. She
could feel Lex’s smirk at her back as she walked out.
She’d gotten what she wanted. The information she needed was
being stolen by her hacker right then. She wouldn’t have to go too far with Lex
to cover her tracks. She started for the door, trying to hold her head up high.
As she walked from the room and made her way through the
castle, out to her car, Lois’s humiliation turned to anger. She stopped and
looked up at one of the windows and saw Lex’s outline as he watched her.
“I’ll be back, Luthor. When I do, you’ll regret this.”
He turned away then, as though he’d heard her words…and dismissed
her.
